Custom work · Powell & Columbus, Ohio

Start with what the piece needs to accomplish.

A room, a dimension, a frustration, a reference photo, or a rough sketch is enough to begin. Custom coffee tables, console tables, dining tables, shelving, and other purpose-built furniture are designed in Powell for homes across Columbus and Central Ohio.

The build path

Four honest stages.

1

Talk

Share the room, intended use, size, style references, and any practical constraints.

2

Refine

Steve develops the proportions, construction direction, material choices, and quote.

3

Build

After approval and deposit, the piece moves through the shop with progress updates.

4

Handoff

The finished work is reviewed before pickup, delivery, or shipping arrangements.

What matters early

Bring the useful information.

DimensionsThe space available, the target height, and anything the piece must clear or align with.
PurposeWhat it will hold, how often it will be used, and what currently is not working.
DirectionReference images, preferred woods, existing furniture, or simply what you do not want.
BudgetA realistic range helps shape material and construction choices before design time is wasted.

Project notes

What you should know.

Materials

Solid hardwoods and appropriate supporting materials are selected for the job. When the right project calls for it, locally sourced hardwood may come through Oakmond Design in nearby Delaware, Ohio, including recovered trees from around Powell and Delaware County. Material and known provenance are discussed before the quote is finalized.

Timeline

Each build receives a project-specific schedule. Complexity, material availability, finish requirements, and the current shop queue all matter.

Pricing

Pricing is based on actual scope, material, construction, and finish. A custom quote follows the initial project conversation.

Changes

Changes are easiest before milling begins. Once material is cut, scope changes may affect price and schedule.
